Eleven And A Half Inches

One last goodbye….

SNIP! SNIP!

Creepy that I made the exact same smile huh?
Well 11.5 inches later and I’ve left the salon with a bob. Maybe not the popular vote as far as hair cuts go, but my stylist talked me into baby steps. I mean, if I decide I want to go pixie, I can always go pixie. But for now I get to live with this cut for a while. I’ll also say that I haven’t colored my hair (yet?) and am as baffled as probably all of you are that it’s looking as red as it is. Let’s take a look at the damage shall we?

All I’ve got to do is send it in! Sorry for the foil (it’s all the salon had to pack it up for me) and when I first looked at this picture (in small thumbnail form) I thought it was a hot dog. haha. Anyway – wow can you believe my hair was that long!? And I didn’t even donate the front portions of my hair! There were initially 4 ponytails so the front 2 you see in the photo above I didn’t even donate. Gosh I have thick hair.

Good deed officially done. And it feels great (and a hell of a lot lighter!)

I’ll go on record saying that I’m actually for once looking forward to brushing my hair post shower now. (used to be the worst part of my every day) Woo!
Oh, and I’ll be sure to update you all if I decide to color my hair or cut it even more…hope you all like this phase though!

Saying Goodbye For Love

Locks of love that is! That’s right, I’ve finally made my appointment. So I’m enjoying this last weekend of long hair. Man, I’m already missing it and it’s not even gone yet. Here’s one last look of my locks…

Yea, Cedar is giving me some love and support. And YES I am extremely nervous. Not that kind of nervous where I’m nervous cause I don’t really want to be doing this….but more of the nervous of ‘I’m chopping off my hair, and I still have no idea what kind of cut I’m going to get!’ If you didn’t read about my initial hair style dilemma, which was posted exactly a month ago (wow has it been that long!?)  read more about it here.

So this is your last chance to get in your vote for a new cut and style for me. I’ll note that it doesn’t have to be one of the two that I chose in that previous post – anything you submit I’d be happy to consider! Cause come 2 o’clock Monday afternoon I’ll look completely different. Wish me luck! (and if you see me, please do me a favor and remind me that it’s only hair and that it does grow back!)

Happy weekend!

Donate, Cut, Color.

Here’s where the blog goes a little personal (as if viewing my house and belongings and wedding isn’t personal enough). But I’ve been letting my hair grow for a while now. I kept it long for the wedding, and refused to color it for my big (and most photographed) day because my goal was to donate it.
I’ve always been told I have such beautiful hair from every stylist I’ve seen (I seem to constantly jump around to whoever is available). Thick. Fine. Blonde. Apparently good hair to have. So why not share my goods? Hair grows back, and I love the thought of doing this and knowing that someone out there is enjoying a wig made of my hair. Good deed for Lauren.

So we got married a month ago (to the day) and I still haven’t cut it. Why? Well as silly as I always thought girls were for feeling this way – I’m a little attached to it. But enough’s enough and now I’m ready to cut it. I think.
Problem is: I don’t know how to cut it. Plus, I’ve been dying to dye it (hehe) seeing as Ryan’s not really a fan of blondes. I’m actually the first (and last) blonde he’s ever dated. And personally I love brown hair and blue eyes. But I’ve always been blonde. Dah! How does one just out of blue choose an entirely new look? I need Tyra.

Anyway, here’s my face without the suggestion of my current hair style (courtesy of Niki Wilson of Southern Shutter Photography)

Specifically, the photo was from a boudoir photo shoot I did for Ryan’s wedding gift (oh-la la!) but that aside, I basically have quite a round face and big eyes.

And here’s what I’ve kind of narrowed it down to. Although I need more guts to do the one style vs the other.

I know, I know…. “what!? a pixie cut!? she’s considering a pixie cut!?”

Well, yes. Yes, I am. I might cry after they cut it, but I’m considering it. Definitely the more daring cut of my two ideas (obviously). But I figure, why not? Life’s short. And if I hate it, it’ll grow back.

And my other idea is just a longer bob-type cut. My hair does wave (and I’m quite lazy when it comes to drying my hair anyway) and the second “Ashley Olsen” style could work for me pretty easily.

Here’s where I could use some comments on a post. Some advice, suggestions, opinions – anything. I’m dyeing for a change.

psst – both images came from Pinterest – any of you also obsess with that site? It’s great for inspiration and ideas – from fashion and home to travel and food!
